1, 2, 3.....8; 8x6x2=96. That's right. This purse is made of 96 pieces of assorted color leather squres, including red, white, brown, coffee, dark blue, etc. Leather types include lamb skin and pig skin. The leather squares were randomly arranged on a picece of cloth lining, and then stiched together. The handles were cut out from veg tanned leather, and hand stitched onto the purse. Inside the purse there are one zipper pocket and two open pockets. This is a big leather purse for large storage.

A simple backpack style leather purse was what I had in mind. The design was inspired by a movie of the story from the 60's. The screen shot of a guy carrying a box-like leather backpack riding a bicycle had be saved in my mind. Starting from scratch, I first laid out the dimensions. The straps are 9-oz veg tanned leather, which is probably the thickest you can find. Veg tanned leather's color will get deeper and deeper when it's exposed under light. Eventually it will turn into honey brown color. The purse comes with two straps. You can remove the two straps from the back and use one strap to connect the side hooks to turn it into a should bag. The purse had one pocket on the back that is easy to reach in. The entire purse was hand-cut, hand-punched, and hand stitched.
